EACH ONE REACH ONE MENTORING PROGRAM

Staff work diligently with our corporate, government, and community-based agency partners to identify and secure potential mentors that are currently working in public service related fields, and facilitate formal mentoring relationships between these professionals and our Best & the Brightest scholars. The goal here is to assist in the process to individually support and nurture each student's professional development through career advisement and interaction among the student mentee and professional mentor in their respective fields of choice. In this process, mentor and mentee map out individual action plans to achieve both short-term and long-term goals for the mentee as he or she navigates through their career development process. Both mentor and mentee are required to commit to a minimum of one year in mentoring relationship, but these life-changing relationships often times last a lifetime. This program is restricted to Best & the Brightest Scholars.

Mentors

We believe that it is important to engage the collective community in this process of identifying individuals that have the potential of lending their knowledge and practical skills to benefiting the lives of aspiring young leaders in public service. We welcome and encourage nominations from the community relative to potential mentors in this regard, and nomination forms are made available for this purpose. All individuals interested in serving as a mentor in the 2008 Each One Reach One Mentoring Program will be required to submit the 2008-2009 mentor application.
